DRIFTIVA · VERSION 2026-10-15
Privacy Policy
This policy describes the Driftiva app, its website and its invitation-only service. It covers optional features too: choosing not to upload a recording does not mean the entire app collects no data.
Device order enquiries
When you request a Street order or enquire about a custom Pro setup, we store your selected package, name, email, optional message, request time and handling status. These details are available to administrators to review and respond to your enquiry. Submitting the form does not create an account or take payment. Contact us using the details below to request access, correction or deletion of your enquiry.
Event organizer enquiries
When you contact us about an event, we store your name, email, optional event name, message, request time and handling status. Administrators use these details to review your plans and reply to you by email. Your enquiry is not published and does not create an account. Contact us using the details below to request access, correction or deletion of your enquiry.
Private recording on your phone
Precise GPS positions, route timestamps, speed, motion sensors, calibration, estimated angles and scores, privately named tracks, car names and session history are stored on your phone. Setup diagnostics can include device and operating-system details, sensor health, failed or cancelled attempts and diagnostic traces. These remain local unless you choose an upload or export feature. Deleting server data does not erase local copies or files you exported.
Account and service information
Our sign-in service, Keycloak, processes your invitation account, account ID, display name, email and authentication credentials. The app uses protected operating-system storage for tokens. Driftiva stores an account ID, display name, access tier, cars, versioned terms acceptance and your choices. An installation identifier can select administrator-provided calibration settings. If Google sign-in is offered and you choose it, Google also processes the sign-in under its own policy. Registration remains invitation-only.
Optional testing uploads and live summaries
If you enable testing sharing, Driftiva uploads future saved recordings, routes, location and sensor data, scores, calibration history and device diagnostics to the Driftiva server for verification, debugging and product improvement. The setup history can include attempts made before sign-in, including failed and cancelled attempts. Administrators can inspect and replay these uploads. Historical recordings require explicit selection. Separately enabled live summaries send administrators current session statistics while recording. Turning off testing sharing cancels pending automatic transfers; it does not delete copies already received. Individual uploaded copies can be deleted from the app.
Community contributions
A separate community preference uploads selected or future recordings privately for verification and contributes eligible scores at reviewed venues during permitted sessions. Public information can include your chosen nickname and separate public ID, venue submissions that pass review, comments, likes and leaderboard scores. Recording a route never automatically creates a public drift spot. Venue submissions stay visible to you and the review team until approved. Supporting telemetry is available to administrators, not other drivers. Disabling future contributions cancels pending publication; use Remove my previous contributions to remove scores already published.
Location between app switches
GPS continuation is off by default. After a separate explanation and opt-in, Android can access precise location for up to five minutes after leaving Record, switching apps or locking the screen. Its notification provides a Stop control. If you also enable track-session continuity, sensors and recording can continue within that window; normal sharing choices still apply. Preparation alone does not upload your position.
Nearby driver viewing and location broadcasting have been removed. The service rejects requests from older app versions and clears any remaining nearby positions.
Map and network providers
Mobile maps request map tiles and fonts from OpenFreeMap, using OpenStreetMap/OpenMapTiles data. These requests expose your IP address and requested map area to the provider. Administrator imagery uses Esri services. Network hosts and the sign-in service can receive IP addresses and request metadata for delivery, security and troubleshooting. Request bodies containing coordinates are not intentionally written to access logs. Your exported files are processed by any destination you choose. Driftiva currently includes no advertising SDK or advertising identifier collection.
Reports, blocking and moderation
Reports you submit retain the reported content or user reference, your account ID, your reason and the moderation outcome. Blocking stores the relationship between account IDs. Existing blocks made through the retired Nearby feature retain a generic Nearby driver label. Temporary references from that feature contain no coordinates or nickname, expire one hour after the last received marker and are excluded from backups; account deletion removes them immediately. Review staff can remove content, suspend listings or restrict accounts. Permission evidence and operator contacts submitted for venue review are available to administrators.
Retention and deletion
Phone recordings remain until you delete them or clear app storage. Uploaded recordings, diagnostics, account details and community content remain until you remove them or request account deletion. Deletion requests immediately stop account access, uploads and publication; server cleanup runs automatically and retries failures. An administrator completes removal of the sign-in identity and its sessions, normally within 30 days.
Restricted backup copies are replaced during the deletion process, within that same 30-day completion window. Operators must replace older backups before marking deletion complete. Minimal account and recording deletion markers are retained to prevent old upload queues from restoring erased data; these contain identifiers and deletion times, not your recordings, profile name or email. Security records required to investigate abuse or meet a legal obligation may be retained only as necessary and restricted to authorized staff.
Your choices and security
You can decline each optional sharing feature and still record privately. Revoke location access in Android settings, stop active tracking in its notification, or change sharing choices in Driftiva. Use Settings → Account → Request account deletion, or the public Account deletion page without reinstalling the app. Data transfers use HTTPS, authenticated access and administrator restrictions. Device security and the destinations you choose for exports also affect who can access your copies.
Contact the developer below to ask about access, correction, deletion or privacy rights that apply where you live. We do not sell your personal information.
